Stock and inventory
Track stock and take inventory
Understand the quantities available and reconcile movements with physical stock.
Choosing the right establishment
Check the establishment and the item before comparing quantities. Stock available in another location does not necessarily correspond to the quantity that can be sold there.
Explain a variation
Find purchases, sales, returns, transfers and adjustments related to the product. Check dates and units to distinguish a missing movement from a misunderstood conversion.
- Displayed stock 24
- Count 22
- Difference −2
Reconcile physical inventory
Count products with the same unit as computer tracking. Analyze the variance before entering an adjustment, then maintain its pattern. An inventory is used to explain and correct a quantity.
Why does the displayed stock differ from the count?
First check the product, its variant, the establishment and the unit. Then consult the movements close to the count: receipt, sale, return, transfer or adjustment. Merchandise moved to another location or counted in boxes instead of pieces may explain the difference.
How to prepare a reliable count?
Define the location, references and time of counting. Note the movements that occurred during this period, then compare the quantities in the same unit. Recount significant discrepancies before correcting them and maintain a reason understandable to the team.
