Accounting and cash flow
Track partial payments and unpaid invoices
Check the outstanding balance and prepare a reminder using recorded documents and payments.
Record a partial payment
A payment may cover part of a bill. Example: for a total of 1,000 DH and a payment of 400 DH, the remaining amount is 600 DH, before any other related transaction.
Check before sending a payment reminder
Open the contact's document or account. Check already entered payments, returns and dates. An unpaid invoice and a late invoice are not synonymous: also compare the due date.
- Amount due 1 000 DH
- Payment 400 DH
- Outstanding 600 DH
Organize follow-up
Use the payment tracking and debt collection functions available to find files to be processed. Keep the payment references and avoid entering the same receipt twice.
When does an invoice become an unpaid invoice to be followed up?
Compare the balance still owed at the agreed due date and the recorded payments. An invoice not paid before its due date still needs to be followed up, but it is not necessarily late. Check returns and corrections before communicating an amount to the customer.
How to control multiple payments on an invoice?
Add up the payments associated with the document, then reconcile them with its total and other related transactions. For an invoice of 1,000 DH paid in two installments, 400 DH then 250 DH, there remains 350 DH in the absence of return or other correction.
